Dad's Close Shave

I forgot to mention that Curtis came over on Wednesday evening and cleaned Dad up. He also brought some safety razors & shaving cream. They sat outside while Curtis trimmed Dad's beard. By the time he got ready to shave Dad it was getting dark, so I used the flashlight app on my phone to light things up for them.
Starting to look less like Howard Hughes.
All cleaned up!
It was very hard work!

On Wednesday night, Curtis also tried to print an on-line application. But that was when the internet was down so we couldn't get either of the computers to work. Last night I let him know it was working again so he came over this morning and printed it. We went to breakfast after that. We started out at Diamond Head Market & Grill, but saw that they didn't have any inside seating. So we went a few blocks down the road to Rainbow Drive-In instead; they have a very limited breakfast menu, about 6 or 7 items. Curtis had the standard Portuguese sausage & eggs breakfast and I had the corned beef hash breakfast. (Diamond Head does look like it has a lot of local plate lunches. I'll have to check it out.)
I've never thought of Rainbow Drive-In as a breakfast place. It isn't really.

Lettie, the instructor for the pre-diabetes class, said it would be better to have a little protein before my morning walk. Since I can't do milk she suggested soy milk or some other non-dairy option. So after lunch I went to Kokua Market to pick up something to drink before I start my walk every morning. In Washington I would buy whatever was on sale so that I would vary what I was drinking to get the benefits from each. There were so many options at Kokua but it was difficult to figure out which was the best price because they were all different sizes. I'll have to work on this part. (I'll also have to see if Dad likes the banana milk; that might be an easy way to make sure he has enough potassium.)
L to R, Row 1: 4 types of cashew milk, Malk pecan milk, the rest are dairy based drinks; Row 2: soy milk, coconut milk, the rest are either orange juice, goat milk, or probiotic drinks; Row 3: 5 types of Ripple pea milk, 2 types of banana milk, 2 types of coconut milk, and 4 types of almond milk.
These were the most interesting; L to R: Ripple pea milk, Mooala banana milk. Notice how the different size Ripple bottles have different amounts of protein? Serving sizes must be different.
I decided to try the Ripple, I think they should change the name.
However, I can understand why they don't want to call it pea milk.
Here's the nutritional info.

Happy Birthday to Anne, Nina, & Simon!
