Another Trip to the Doctor

WARNING! There will be a photo of blood at the end of this post! That eye thing that I went in for yesterday did not go away. I woke up around 1:30 this morning and my eye felt drippy. So I got a tissue and dabbed it, then looked at it by the light of my phone, and saw much brighter blood than yesterday. And also more of it. I looked at the little spot that Dr. Greg had showed me yesterday and couldn't find it. So it was something else causing the blood. Later in the morning, I called to leave a message for her & was advised to just make an appointment since by the time she saw the message it might be too late to get an appointment for today. So they made a 10:30 appointment for me.

But then that meant I would not be able to make the 12 noon appointment with Tim to give him the paperwork he requested for the Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). So I called & left him a message asking for a time later in the afternoon. Then got busy getting ready to go to Waimea for the appointment with Dr. Greg.

As luck would have it, Dr. Greg noticed I was back on her schedule so she called. After a short chat she said she was referring me to one of the eye specialists at Kaiser's Kona clinic because there wasn't much more that she would be able to do for me. Her assistant called back & apologized that the only appointment they could get for me was at 4:20. Traffic in Kona is horrendous at that time! So I left another message for Tim, saying that I would be able to see him at 12 noon after all!

I went to CSC Cafe for breakfast and to let Lem know I was in town and to come over for dessert on Saturday night. But he wasn't there, so I just had breakfast. I made a quick stop at his house, which is just down the road from CSC, but he wasn't there either.

Looking for my 2015 tax return and my Trust paperwork was interesting. I had packed the paperwork I was keeping in 2 filing cabinets that I had shipped over. They were in the front bedroom that I will be using as an office space, but were still completely wrapped up. (Darn! I should have taken before and after photos but didn't!) When I finally got them unwrapped, I went to open them. I am pretty certain that at one or more points in their journey they were placed upside down or on their sides; the files were all jumbled up inside the drawers. That is, once I was able to open them. With the files in disarray, they jammed the drawers and kept them from opening smoothly. I had to wiggle my hand in to unjam the drawers. I was successful in 3 of the 4 drawers. I still have not been able to get in to one of the drawers. But I did get the 2015 tax return. I called Rowen's office & asked Carol if she could e-mail an electronic copy of the Trust document to Tim.

The meeting with Tim went well. When he gets the last pieces of information from Harold & Carol/Rowen, he will start the appraisal and move the process along.

After dropping in at CSC and talking to Lem, I went to see Laurel & Bill. (Mamerto was at CSC talking with Lem when I got there.) When I saw them yesterday, Laurel & Bill offered me some avocados. Since I have none I gladly accepted! Bill, bless his heart, had picked a dozen of them for me. I don't think Bill was ever an avocado picker; they are all rock hard, it will be at least a few days before they can be eaten. I will take them to Honolulu for Dad.
Yummy avocados! I think there are 2 varieties here.

Lem, Mamerto, Laurel, & Bill all said I should allow 2 hours to get to my appointment in Kona at that time of the day. So I left Laurel & Bill's house about 1:45 and headed to Kona, that gave me about 2 & 1/2 hours. And the traffic was bad, but not horrendously bad. It only took me 1 & 1/2 hours to get to Kaiser. It usually takes an hour to get to Kona.

So I had about an hour to kill. Fortunately I had planned for good traffic flow and had my laptop, so I started deleting more photo files so I can get my email working again.
Sorting through old photos while I wait for my appointment. This would have been a great photo for Halloween!

Besides my prescription, I had to pick up baby shampoo so that I could wash around my eye twice a day before applying the antibiotic. So I went to the Longs Drugs in the outskirts of Kona, the one that I went to with Aunty Florence & Tomiko in July. I also picked up flowers to take to the haka tomorrow and an orchid lei for Janice when I pick her up on Sunday; I hope it lasts till then. I was looking at the puakenikeni to see if there were enough flowers to make a lei; there were, but they were too high for me to reach easily, hence the purchased lei.

WARNING! Blood photo coming at the end of this paragraph! As I mentioned earlier, my eye was bleeding again early this morning. The diagnosis is "eyelid abrasion". But no one can figure out why it only bleeds in the early morning when I am asleep. Dr. Winpigler said perhaps I am rubbing my eyes in my sleep or rubbing against the pillow. But there is no blood on my fingers or on the pillow case, so its a mystery.  Until this gets under control, here's what I get to look forward to!
This was more vibrant than the previous morning when it was more diluted.

Happy Birthday to Dave, Sue, & Adman!
