Dad is More Alert Today

After lunch Dad got a little more active and alert, he had a visit with Aunty Judy. Even though Dad was more awake, he did not want to do anything when Julie the physical therapist came to work with him this afternoon. He actually pushed her away and lay back down on the bed & refused to sit up. It is good that he is more awake & stronger, but bad that he is fighting back & refusing the physical therapy.

Although he did eat a whole banana, Dad's eating habits didn't improve much today. He only had water with his banana, he didn't have any of the Boost Breeze, Boost Plus, or Magic Cup today. I am hoping things get better tomorrow. It's a good thing he likes bananas.


Dad finally had a bowel movement today, after a week without one. The doctors & nurses were concerned that he had not had one for that long; he was on daily stool softeners for it. He actually had 2 today so that was very positive, maybe he'll feel better, too.

I saw a new cat today, it has a black bonnet & a small spot on its back with a black tail. I know it's not the same as the one I am labeling the cat with the gray bonnet, which has a much larger blotch on is back and on its right leg. The black bonnet is also not as low on the cat's head.

This morning the bulbuls were making a lot of noise by the cat run. And I could hear Chibi out in the cat run chattering at the bulbuls. When I checked closer, I saw that there were several strawberries just starting to ripen. The bulbuls can only get in to the cat run by squeezing through the chain link fence, which would be somewhat suicidal with Chibi in the cat run; she's the best hunter of the bunch. I checked
