Finally!

The corrected Death Certificates have arrived! Only 11 weeks after Mom passed. There is a bunch of paperwork that needs either an original or a copy of the Death Certificate in order for them to be processed. And I had already gotten 3 second notices or phone calls wondering why we had not sent completed papers back yet. I picked up the certificates after lunch and started putting the packets together and mailing them off. Only thing is Mom did not have a whole lot of first class or forever stamps. But she did have a bunch of other denomination stamps, but some of them had letters instead of numbers. So I went to the post office to find out how much they were worth.
The red book of stamps are actually Canadian stamps, not sure why it says "United States" on the front cover.

Curtis came by to give Dad a shower this evening. But Dad said he was cold and didn't want to take a shower. So they agreed on tomorrow night. After his shower Curtis is going to ask if he wants to go to dinner at Zippy's. We think it will be good to have him get out of the house a little.

We think Dad has been resistant to going to Kohala because the old house only had a shower in the garage, down about 8 steps. I showed Dad the photos below of the new ramp to the front door and the shower replacing the tub at the Kohala house. He seemed to be pleasantly surprised by the changes; he said the house is now "modern". When I asked him about going with us in July for Mom's Hatsubon he said he would go since we are going. Yay! (I'm leaving the photos on the kitchen table so he can see them to be reminded that things are "modern" now.)
Newly constructed ramp, July 2016.
Painted ramp with railings, December 2016.
Looking in the bathroom doorway at the new shower, September 2016.
Shower in September 2016; there are now grab bars in the shower.

Happy Birthday to Mrs. Washington 2009!
