Xander is now sleeping under the couch; in almost the same spot that Chibi used to sleep in. I'm not sure how comfortable it is for him since he's much bigger than Chibi. This is the second spot that Chibi used to sleep in that he has taken over. Chibi now sleeps on the bed.
I spent much of the day going through more of Mom & Dad's paperwork. Every mail delivery brings another batch of envelopes that need to be sorted through & handled. Today was no different. There was information from one of Mom's financial advisors, a bill that is on autopay, and the usual junk mail. I'm glad there is paper recycle pick up right at the house! (Paperwork does not make for a good photo so I am sparing you that boring sight!)
Curtis dropped by after lunch. We spent time talking about Dad's falls. Since the physical therapist found that Dad's muscles were strong, the low potassium and Vitamin D are the prime suspects. We discussed how the low potassium could have affected Dad; specifically how potassium & sodium help with the transmission of stimuli along the nerve cell. Curt was in the biomedical engineering program at UH; he said what I described sounded a little familiar, but that was over 40 years ago! He said low potassium and Vitamin D is the same thing the doctors found with his father-in-law when he had fallen earlier in the year. Hopefully the potassium supplement and additional bananas will quickly get Dad's potassium level up. Low Vitamin D can also cause muscle weakness, but I'm not sure of the exact process. Dad is on 50,000 IUs once a week for 8 weeks; we'll see what his levels are in a couple of months.
