Lasagna in a Can?

The Roommates brought home some canned food last night. Lasagna in a can? Huh? Isn't it the long, wide, flat noodles with wavy edges what distinguishes lasagna from other pasta dishes? How can you get that in a can? Maybe each can contains a serving sized square of lasagna? Nope, there are 2 servings in each can. Maybe 2 lasagna-noodle-width rectangular pieces instead of the usual square? I've never had lasagna in a can or the Spaghetti-Os they also brought home. I can understand the Spaghetti-Os; the name clearly says this is not the original long skinny noodles, they have been reformatted in to Os. Can't wrap my head around Lasagna in a can though.

The Roomba was acting up this morning. It undocked itself okay & ran for about 10 minutes. Then it stopped & kept spinning in circles; it was unable to find the docking port. I put it back on, thinking perhaps it needed to charge up more since it looked like it was not exactly straight when I 1st started it. Later I started it up again; same problem. I asked The Potential Most Favorite Roommate what error message it had sent him; none. Turns out he never updated the wi-fi setting when he upgraded the router a few months ago. We will try again tomorrow morning & see what it says.

It's a Fast Day so no morning proothie or lunch photos; we go straight to dinner. I decided to have a proothie for dinner! It was a plain one.

Baron sent out a New Years email & shared how they have been handling Chad's ashes while they work to have them interred with their parents' ashes at the family crypt at the Moʻiliʻili Japanese Cemetery.

Ken has finished another drawer! He sent me photos of the new drawer. Two more to go!

They're not recesssed like the original drawers.
But they work better than the original drawers so I'm not concerned about it.

I think the last of the packages I sent out has been received. And it is the east coast folks who are getting them, a few days after the USPS said they would arrive. But that is to be expected; I sent them the day before the snow hit the continental US.

The house on 11th looks like its getting closer to moving to its new location. I wonder if we will walk by it tomorrow? I wonder how ling it will take them to move it across the lot?

Looks like I am going to just miss the Waimea Cherry Blossom Festival; it will be on February 5th this year. Kai & I attended this back in 2018; we got to meet Governor Ige & Hawaiʻi Island Mayor (at the time) Harry Kim. Kai was wearing his "100% part Uchinanchu" t-shirt which Mayor Kim got a kick out of!

Kīlauea is still erupting, though it is not as visible as it was before. The thermal camera is the only one that really shows it is relatively active. But even that shows less lava being emitted in the afternoon than there was in the morning.

It looked like there might have been a very light dusting of new snow on Mauna Kea overnight; there was none during the daylight hours, but later in the evening it began snowing just before dark.

Is that some new snow on the access road to the left?
The snow from last night is all melted off now.
But wait! More is on its way in!
I wonder if it will snow all night?

In Marysville, there was no overnight snow either. And none during the day; it looked like it was raining in the evening. Which bodes well for Janice's trip tomorrow. There are 2 things that could derail her trip tomorrow: 1) snow that keeps her plane from leaving, or 2) lack of trained flight personnel that keeps her plane from leaving. It will be her 3rd try in getting here for a visit.

No new snow overnight.
But the day warmed up & things began melting.
Then it started raining; that will wash a bunch of snow away.
It rained well in to the evening.

The Aix weather app forecast heavy rain all day in Honolulu, including thunderstorms like yesterday. I know it rained quite heavily all night; it woke me up a couple of times it was coming down so heavy. During the day it was raining hard every so often with light rain or drizzle in between. the rain gauge at the Palolo Fire Station recorded 1.26 inches for the 24-hour period ending at 5:45 p.m. & the Pukele Stream (a tributary to Palolo Stream) showed a slight blip today; it was nowhere near what it recorded for yesterday. For Kapa'au, Aix forecast some rain until mid-afternoon, then dry for the rest of the day; Big Island Now forecast showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon & a 70% chance of rain. The Honomū weather station did not record any precipitation during the day.
