Roomba Stuck

I have been leaving the sewing room window open to get better airflow through the house. When the cats move in, the cat gate will be moved to the sewing room doorway which will allow the airflow to continue. In the meanwhile, I open the door during the day & close it at night to keep the Roomba out of the room. Except I forgot to do that last night. I got an alert this morning that the Roomba was stuck. In the sewing room.

The reason it got stuck is that the floor of the sewing room is about an inch lower than the rest of the house. That's because I had Chris put a 1/2" thick sheet of plywood over the entire floor rather than replace each individual floor board that had termite damage & was unsafe. Since the original boards were 2" x 6" boards milled in the 1920's they were really 2" by 6". To replace one would require a board 4" x 8" to be planed down to the proper size. Covering the entire floor with the plywood was easier, faster, & cheaper. Chris then laid the finish flooring over the plywood.

Later in the day I went to the Celebration of Life for Lisa. I did not know Lisa personally, but I know her daughter Jessica so I went to show support for Jessica.

I gave Beth a ride home, she had broken her wrist a few days earlier & was unable to drive. Her neighbor had given her a ride to the celebration but was still eating lunch & had to take another person home; so I gave Beth a ride since I could tell her arm was aching & she needed to rest. (Been there, done that.) On the way back I herded a flock of wild turkeys down her driveway!
