Kai took his 1st dose of Azithromycin about 11 am yesterday. By 5 pm yesterday he was feeling much better. Here he is making toast for breakfast this morning, which he eats plain so the lipids don't upset his gut while he is recuperating. Or maybe this was lunch? Hard to say, he's been eating a lot of toast & bananas at all hours.

I ordered new noise-canceling headphones for us. The cover on the current ones (that are 4 years old) are beginning to disintegrate & we had been planning on replacing them. And there was a price reduction notification that showed up in my in box this morning! I'm having them sent to Honolulu since the estimated delivery is for the time frame that we will be there; if so, Kai will have new ones to use on the flight home. (He broke part of his this morning, apparently shortly after I put in the order that he did not know about until later in the day.)
Yesterday, while dealing with Kai at the emergency room & later, Fran texted me asking if I wanted their baby Singer sewing machine. When I responded today I said I would take it; I am thinking I will use it in place of Grandma's sewing machine since I have been unable to find someone who can restore the wood cabinet. While I was taking a nap today, she & Billy dropped it off. Kai had them put it in the garage ... at the bottom of the stairs. In hindsight he said it probably would have been better on the ramp or front porch. Tomorrow we will put it in the car, drive it up to the ramp & put it on the front porch, then in to the house.

| Hmm, not really the best place to store it. Moʻo is afraid to walk by it. |
I noticed the jaboticaba fruits are getting bigger & 1 is beginning to turn color. I am hoping the rest wait until I return to fully ripen so that I can harvest them for Mark. Though there is not much fruit, he only needs about 5 pounds for each batch of ice cream.
This afternoon Kai introduced me to a You Tube channel called Tasting History with Max Miller. Specifically, he wanted me to watch the episode called, Mulligan "Hobo" Stew from the Great Depression. It was very interesting, he gives both the recipe as well as the historical background for what he is tasting. I might start regularly watching an episode every so often; he apparently posts a new episode every Tuesday.
Dr. Goody, Kai's ER doctor, called this evening; the lab culture results were back. The culprit is Campylobacter sp.; the disease is called campylobacteriosis. The preferred treatment for campylobacteriosis is Azithromycin so Kai needs no further treatment. Yay! Dr. Goody was glad to hear that Kai was feeling much better since beginning the Azithromycin treatment.
I usually study ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi twice a day; usually around 6 am while still lying in bed, then later around 11 pm while lying in bed. Last night Duolingo said I unlocked my Hawaiian Score. I have no idea what that means. And I don't remember seeing this notice for numbers 1 through 17. 🤔
The prediction for the start of Episode 29 at Kīlauea is still between July 17th & 20th. Since Kai is feeling much better, if it erupts on the 17th or 18th he might get to see it during this visit.
Hauʻoli lā Hānau e Karon!
