As we were getting ready to deplane we discovered Miss Kona Coffee 2025, Maianna Taylor, was sitting in the row in front of us. She was talking with a fellow passenger as we waited for the people at the front of the plane to exit. For this trip we were on the ʻEwaʻewa.
Kai & I had lunch at Curtis & Lori's so they could celebrate my birthday; they leave tomorrow for a 10-day trip to Japan. The boys came over also; they contributed the barbecue ribs. Everything was so ono!

In the evening there was a Civil Defense alert; there had been an earthquake in Russia off the east coast of Kamchatka. The 1st alert said to prepare for a tsunami as the authorities evaluated the risk. They very quickly determined there was no risk & issued a cancellation about an hour later. It happened so fast I was unable to collect the normal screenshots showing the progress.
Episode 29 of the Kīlauea eruption still has not started. They're now saying maybe tonight or tomorrow. I sent a text to Tomiko around 9 saying, "HVO forecast this morning said either today or tomorrow. Right now it's looking like tomorrow. This one is taking longer than the previous ones to get going again."
