We met Irene & Gary in downtown Edmonds for dinner. After checking out the dining options we ended up at Moto Pizza because we were intrigued by their menu; they serve a Detroit-style deep dish pizza. We tried the Crab pizza & the Mr. Pig pizza; each came cut into 4 squares so it was perfect! Next time I would also like to try the Beef Adobo pizza. Since we arrived about 10 minutes before they were officially open for business, Irene & Kai played video games while we waited. (The front door was open to help cool off the dining area; not many places in western Washington have air conditioning.) I met Irene about 30 years ago when she started working at Snohomish County; met Gary a couple of years later at an after-work function. He is the creator of the amazing sand sculptures I occasionally highlight in this blog.

We were a little early arriving in Edmonds before we met up with Irene & Gary; we did a little sightseeing. I found it interesting that they include Edmonds historical information along with their public restroom sign. The PSA about dogs was very informative; though I rarely walk Moʻo on asphalt or a sidewalk.

We started out the day by visiting Gulshan at home since we didn't have time to visit with her yesterday while she was at work. Since she was having her house painted, the windows were covered with plastic in preparation for the painting. In the unseasonably warm weather they are having it was much like being in Hawaiʻi during Kona weather! We left when the painters arrived & sealed up the final window before beginning their work. I hope they finish quickly so she can get some ventilation back soon. We mer Gulshan about 15 years ago when she owned A Pizza House; Kai & hid friends said it was the best pizza in Everett!
I still have a few things in Kai's storage unit; its mainly books. We stopped by there so I could pack up a couple boxes to send back to myself. I also grabbed a few things that would easily fit in my suitcase.

After we mailed the boxes off to Hawaiʻi, we returned to the house. Kai showed me his chicken sitting duties. He also showed me how HelloFresh has people recycle the ice packs. When dried, the gel inside turns in to granules that are non-toxic & the empty plastic bag can be recycled.
On our way to meet Irene & Gary in Edmonds, Kai needed another caffeine boost so we stopped at Caffe Ladro. Kai had their special, which I don't remember what it was. I tried their Turmeric Latte (with coconut milk) since turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties & my knee was feeling a little "congested".
