Transfusion #6

On the way in for Mom's transfusion, she was so out of breath I ended up pushing her in a wheelchair from the parking garage to the ATC; on the way out she walked all the way with no problems. She received 1 unit of packed red blood cells with a unit of saline. Throughout the transfusion Mom kept asking why she needed to get the blood; she thinks it's her first time getting a transfusion. She also keeps asking what it is that she has that she needs to have the transfusions. We keep reminding her about the leukemia but the dementia makes it difficult for her to remember.

There is a stream that runs past the Kaiser Moanalua facility; it's a tributary to Moanalua Stream. The building in the back is the southwest corner of the facility. This photo was taken from the northwesterly edge of the parking garage, looking northwesterly. (Needs more native plants in the buffer ...)

On the way home we saw another view of Leahi. It is in the background. The crater to the left in the middle distance is Puowaina, aka Punchbowl. The freeway seen is H-201, aka the Moanalua Freeway, during rush hour. The trees on the left are in the buffer along Moanalua Stream, which runs between the freeway and a golf course, single family residences, and the Tripler Army Medical Hospital.

Happy Birthday to Jim & Lori! We will also be celebrating Lori's birthday on Friday.
