I was looking out the window of the door to the deck & saw something move in the hapuʻu closest to the deck. It was Hoʻokoa! He had somehow climbed on to the hapuʻu & was sitting in the center of the fern! I hope he did not break the growing tip. It appears that he crawled through the railing slats & on to the hapuʻu because the anthuriums growing on its trunk did not appear to be disturbed.

There was a large flock of Common Waxbills in Jessieʻs back yard right outside my bedroom window. There was maybe about 20 of them; they were quickly joined by a Java Sparrow. You can really see the difference in size between those 2 species.
In the afternoon, a couple more of the cats got in to the act. Paʻipaʻi was lying down drinking water. Similar to when she eats, I think she lies down because her subluxated knees make it uncomfortable to stand normally. And Hoʻokoa was chasing after something in the cat yard; I never did figure out what he was chasing. He was staying still too long for me to keep on watching him.
Olomea came to eat this morning! I think she has been staying away since Moʻo has been loose 24/7 while I was gone. Later in the afternoon I saw her walking calmly up to the roosters; she was not attacked by them. In fact, she approached them with her tail up & with a slight curl in the tip; the way a friendly cat greets others. Iʻm not sure what the relationship is between them.
In the afternoon I went to drop off a dragonfruit with Jessie; she loves to eat them ice cold! While I was there Jessie showed me the project she is working on for Masa. She is taking a bunch of coins he had, sorting & packing them in to rolls. She went to the credit union earlier today to use their machine but it was broken so she has to do it by hand.
The next episode of eruption for Kīlauea is anticipated but the forecast is "likely at least two weeks away." I hope it decides to erupt after my friend Barb arrives but before she leaves.
Hauʻoli lā Hānau e Monica, Stanley, & Deborah!
