Kale Chips

The Potential Most Favorite Roommate has discovered how easy it is to make kale chips. And everyone in the house likes them! We now have to figure out what other CSA items, that we don't use for much else, make good veggie chips. That's one way to get The Roommates to eat green things!

The other orchid bloomed this morning! It is smaller than the 1st one but still beautiful.

DT got his 2nd dose this morning about 8 am. He had the Pfizer vaccine which is a smaller dose than the Moderna vaccine; there are less side effects with this one. He has had no reaction so far.

Kai's fever finally broke last night. Today he is now only experiencing a sore arm. While I was on the phone talking to him, I put it into video chat mode and walked him through the house, greeting The Roommates and showing him the cats. But I could not find Sʻmores; turns out she was in the shark bed.

Although the Aix weather app forecast rain by mid-afternoon, we had none today.

The Samsung Health app sent me a notification about my Weekly Summaries. I see I really need to get some walking in on Saturday, Sunday, & Monday to meet my 60 minutes of activity target for those days.

The Canada-France-Hawaiʻi Telescope web cam on Mauna Kea was interesting today. In the midmorning there were some wispy clouds, then after lunch it was enveloped in a thick cloud bank, by late afternoon it had cleared somewhat. But the view of the Kohala Mountains to the north was obscured for most of the day. I need to find a different set of web cams to get a better idea of the weather at the north end of the island.

I also took several screen shots of the Kīlauea caldera web cam views.

The weekly Duolingo challenge ended this evening; I placed 2nd in the Obsidian League. I received 1000 gems for my efforts. I have now moved back up to the Diamond League. If you place in the Top 10 of whatever league you are in you move up to the next league; if you place in the bottom 10, you move back down to the lower league.

I missed screenshots of my standing & the reward.

There were 53 new cases of COVID-19 reported today bringing the known number of cases up to 27,891. There was 1 new death reported today, bringing the death toll up to 445; currently there are 658 active cases. The 7-day new case average for Oʻahu is 24 with a positivity rate of 0.9%.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau e Christina!
