Today was another Leeward Planning Commission Special Meeting for the draft General Plan 2045. There were about 20 in person testifiers at the West Hawaiʻi Civic Center & about another 15 testifying via Zoom. Again most were not specific except to say get rid of the whole thing & nearly all of these people had already testified in previous meetings & in front of both commissions.
After the meeting I did my Kona errands. I started with getting Moʻo's frozen raw food & Kong treat refills. And ended with running between Home Depot & Lowe's to find the sheet vinyl for the flooring of the Cat Genie room. I ended up going to Lowe's; the folks at Home Depot did not even know what it was. Kassi at Lowe's was very helpful! When I got back to Kohala, I dropped it off at Chris' house since I was unable to unload it by myself due to my hand injury & we felt it was better to unfold it overnight. Chris will bring it to the house tomorrow.
The eruptive phase of Kīlauea that started yesterday is still going! If you come to visit & the volcano begins to erupt, go as soon as you can since it is not guaranteed to go on for a long time.
Hauʻoli lā Hānau e Karena!
