Walking Our Block

On the Neighborhood Security Watch walk this morning, we walked past our house. Along the way I told them about the neighbors whom I knew that lived nearby. We met several other people along other portions of our walk; Dwayne & Ron invited them to join the group in 2 weeks when we will be doing another walk with the 2 police officers. We covered 1.38 miles today.

After I returned home I saw a text & an email from Marjorie; she is gearing up for December MRC requests. In fact, she put out feelers for 8 tentative events over the next 2 weeks; it looks like they are nā kūpuna booster clinics.

When I walked in to the living room this morning, it looked like a cat had died on the couch.

That does not look comfortable to me.

For lunch I made a sandwich with some of the Take-and-Bake bread The Roommates baked last night & the salmon spread I made the night before. I have been using tuna (or salmon) spread on a couple of Parm Crisps as a low carb, high protein after dinner snack to keep me full through the evening.

I got a text & an email from Ken. He is finished with the prior jobs that he had & is now going to start working on my cabinetry projects. He will be taking more measurements on Friday, then building a sample kitchen drawer to figure out how much time & money it will be for each drawer.

Then I got a call from Heidi. I will be transporting 3 birds for a morning flight. They actually have 4 birds needing to be sent to Hawaiʻi Island, but Hawaiian Air Cargo only had room for 3 on flights that are early enough for them.

For dinner The Potential Most Favorite Roommate made pork chops in cream of mushroom soup; I contributed a pound of air fryer Brussels sprouts. It was a tasty collaboration!

It must have been a big pig!

In the morning, the thermal image of the Kīlauea eruption showed what appeared to me to be another vent somewhat northerly of the vent that has continued to flow. This evening I noticed that the thermal image showed that the lava had flowed along the northerly edge of the caldera floor for quite a distance.

The Honomū weather station was dry in the earlier parts of the day but at 8:32 p.m. it had recorded 0.05 inches of precipitation. For Marysville, Aix forecast rain all day. The traffic cam showed dry pavement during the daylight hours, but after dark it looked like there had been some precipitation.

The north facing shores had the best surf today; most everywhere else was fairly flat. Sometime today the Laniakea surf cam was repositioned; there is now a tree trunk in the middle of the view. Hilo Bay in the evening looked like there was a light mist coming down.
