British Racing Green

That is the name of the color that Chris painted the main body of the house today; it is a commonly seen color known as Parker Ranch Green here on Hawaiʻi Island. The trim color is Granary White.

I called Lowe's this morning & talked to Richard. I had received an email yesterday saying tomorrow is the last day I can pick up the water heater isolation valve. In the meanwhile, I have received no word on when the actual water heater will be ready for me to pick up. Richard found out it was shipped on the 5th, most likely from the continent & was dubious whether it would arrive by tomorrow. He made a note on the file to keep the isolation valve for pick up at the same time with the water heater. 

We discovered we need more honey hickory flooring; Chris did not order enough when he 1st did the flooring in 2016 to complete the room now. It looks like it is no longer being manufactured, so I checked on-line to see if there might be something that might match the color of flooring that I have. There are some that look close but the more important question is, can I go & pick it up or do I have to have it shipped to the store before I can pick it up? The answer is, it depends. I will be taking a piece of the previous batch of flooring & comparing with what I find in stock.

The original flooring was from Home Depot, so I checked there 1st. Although I could Google the original one, I found it is no longer being manufactured. Here are the current options through Home Depot.

This color is close but slightly redder; needs to be shipped in.

This color is too light.

I also checked Lowe's on-line selections. Only 1 seemed to be a close fit. Besides color, I also need to check for width & thickness.

Across the State in 2024 Hawaiian Electric had a 36% consolidated renewable portfolio standard (RPS). Hawaiʻi Island is leading the way at 59%. (FYI Kauaʻi County has a community-owned electric system so is not shown on this chart put out by HECO.) Hawaiʻi Island had a 13% increase over 2023. Overall, about 43% of individual customers (like me) have rooftop solar installations.

"Customer DER" is private rooftop solar installations.

I ate the avocado that Susie gave me the other day. It was delicious! 

The light pink ice plant has a little more color today than it did yesterday; though not as much as when I 1st bought it. 

Someone was mowing the back pasture again. I hope they mow close along the fence. So less weeds come over the fence via blowing in.

He's mowing the pasture.

I hope he mows as close close to the fence as he can.

It has been almost a week now that Kīlauea has been on pause.
