Your Order Has Arrived!

That was the subject line of 2 emails I received today shortly after lunch; they were from Lowe's. That surprised me. In none of their other correspondence did they update me on an ETA for the items. But 3 of the 5 things that I ordered are now waiting for me at the post office; the other 2 things are items that I must go to Kona to pick up.

Earlier in the week Fred had asked me if he could come by today about 9 to put in the last post for the cat gate on the west end of the cat yard. I was surprised when Kailin & Shannon showed up without Fred; he was on the phone giving them instructions on how to complete the job! Kinda like a You Tube repair video.

All posts for west end of fence done.

While Kailin was out getting additional tools, Shannon asked if I was an activist. Turns out he & some friends are trying to organize the 30-something community members to find out more about what is going on with projects in North Kohala, then show up when needed. I would like to go to their next meeting to see if there is overlap with existing groups (of kūpuna) & see if they are interested in integrating with the older generation.

It's Friday! I took Chris out to lunch at K. O. Pizza; Bella was going to join us but was not feeling well. The special today was a bacon mac & cheese pizza, so that's what we got. It was very filling; we came back with 3/4 of a pizza left.

There was a very fat rooster hanging out at K. O. Pizza. Initially, he was up on the lawn behind the outdoor dining area. But when Mel brought the pizza out he headed for the dining area; no wonder he is chubby! I did not give him anything.

After lunch I went to the post office to pick up the items from Lowe's. Both boxes were large & bulky. But I was pretty sure the one containing the fan & exhaust pipe did not need to be that large. I was correct; those 2 pieces took up about a quarter of the box. Not sure why they choose to ship them in such a large box.

Chris was pulling wires so there is not much to see. Here is a better shot showing what the end of the day looked like yesterday.

Moʻo did a great job today, tying herself around a bunch of weeds that were growing up in to the Meyer lemon. With a handful of stems, the weeds were much more than she could break with her running around. On the plus side, she was held in place under the Meyer lemon so was in the shade.

She looks very pleased with what she has accomplished.

The eruption at Kīlauea is still paused.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau e Barb, Heather, & Alison!
