Yesterday Chris built a wall to close off the old door in to the closet that will become the Cat Genie Room & created a "new" door opening. We are using the old door & also keeping it in the same orientation (opening out) so he did not have to change any of the hardware. I say "new" door opening because the opening is where the porch used to go down a set of steps to the ground when I was a kid.

New door for Cat Genie room; all the old porch floors were this red color. |
During lunch, since the temporary plywood door was off, I took more photos of the deck in progress. You can clearly see how Chris made the section by the hapuʻu 1 board narrower than the rest of the deck. I also took a photo showing where the stairs will descend from the deck.

This is what the room looked like at lunch.
I got an email from Immi today; apparently my order "hasn't been updated by the carrier in a few days." Immi says they will monitor it & contact the carrier if no activity is seen. Wonder if it is the shipping causing the lack of update?
There was a High Surf Advisory today for west facing shores. That is the shoreline that Lapakahi State Historical Park is located.
The eruption at Kīlauea still remains on pause.
