I got an email from Lowe's today, the heater has arrived & is ready for pick up. Just a day late, so I need to make another trip to Kona. Auē! Fortunately they will hold it until the 20th when the next Leeward Planning Commission will be held so I should be able to avoid an extra trip to pick it up.
Today Chris closed off the door to the old closet & opened up the door to the Cat Genie room.
At back left is wall where closet door used to be. |
At back center by step ladder is new Cat Genie door opening.
He also removed the old window on the east side & turned that into an opening for the door out to the deck & the stairs going down to the anthurium garden.
Looking at new door opening through old kitchen window. |
Door opening seen from inside with temporary plywood covering. |
The reason Chris could now cut the door opening is because part of the deck has been installed. The decking is in but there are no railings or steps down to the anthurium garden.
Looking at deck from inside. |
Currently deck only accessible from ground by ladder. |
Looks nice! |
Underside of deck, notice notch by hapuʻu. |
The eruption at Kīlauea stopped this morning about a half hour before they sent out the status report. This 9th episode was slightly less than one day long.
