Okinawan Festival

The Virtual Okinawan Festival took place this weekend. It is usually earlier in the summer but got postponed due to COVID-19. When it became apparent that SARS CoV-2 would be here for a while they went virtual. There; was such an overwhelming response they quickly maxed out at 1000 viewers; they will be posting the videos of the festivities at a later date.

We like to go for the food as well, so we had Okinawan food for dinner tonight. The Potential Most Favorite Roommate made shoyu pork and The Roommate Who Likes to Wash Dishes made andagi; they didn't tell me they were doing this so I did not find out until I came out later in the evening to watch the news. They did pretty good!

I am annoyed with Blogspot. This evening when I opened up the app it had switched to the new format again! Auē! It is once again slow going to create a post. And I have discovered if I try to work on the html code it deletes all my photos! I have to load them all again and it takes forever since it wants to save after each photo. And it crashes a lot more, which also wipes out any photos I have added, even after I have saved the draft! And adding captions is also tricky, so no captions until I can get this fixed.

The LG had a good column in today's paper about how to slow the spread and reopen the economy and schools. I hope enough people decide to do the right thing and follow it. The bottom photo is the LG in front of the Kohala Hospital doing his FB post this afternoon.

There were 164 new COVID-19 cases today, for a total of 9855 known cases. There was also 1 new death reported, bringing that total to 85. Although 60 people were released from isolation today; here are still 6779 active cases; the number of active cases has been steadily increasing since the surge began in late July.
