We did 1102 forms today; the expected was 1130. Not terribly low but also not a really high number. That was okay for me; there was a lot of other stuff going on today. But that did not include the test of the data migration from the One Oʻahu registration spreadsheet over to VAMS. Apparently Koa tried to import 1 file on Thursday (his own) and has been waiting ever since for it to go through; he thinks there may be an issue with permissions that he does not have so he is checking on that now.
This is from 2:30, not the end of the day. I forgot to get that one. |
At the start of the day we were informed that 2 people would be absent today; but Rose was already making arrangements to have their places covered. Jennifer was one of the people Rose called, but she was already here because she the appointment for her 2nd shot was today; so that worked out great!
One of the morning runners was feeling a little achy at the start of the morning due to the effects of her 2nd shot that she had yesterday; she said she could handle it. But as the morning wore on I noticed her making more little mistakes that she usually doesn't make; we decided it was because she was feeling a little more tired and she slowed down and paid more attention to what she was doing. Around 10:30 she started to feel chilled and more achy; she wanted to stay and do data entry but we sent her to get her temperature checked. It was only a low grade fever but we sent her home anyway.
About an hour later we got an email from Rose; it was the roster for tomorrow. Which was normal, except there was a note after the name of the person that called in sick today; she was going in tomorrow for a COVID-19 test! I informed Ops about it and asked what the contingency plan was if the test came back positive and was told the safety officer would get back to me about it.
To make a long story short, after a few phone calls I found out our staff person had a fever over the weekend and was being sent for a COVID test based on the policy of Staffing Solutions; she needs a negative COVID test before coming back to work. I also reached the staff person; she says she only had a fever with no other symptoms. She went in for a test about 5 pm; we'll have to wait & see what her test results are. She is expecting them back around midnight; I'll be sending out info to the IMT when I get the results so they can put the COVID contingency plan in to effect if needed.
Lunch today was from Hiro's Island Catering; I did the carnivore meal today, I'm not to fond of spinach. The Miso Chicken sounded really good; but there was not much miso taste and too much grilling. Maybe the Spinach Salad would have been better.
With everything going on I did a lot of walking today; even though we have radios we don't discuss medical issues over it due to HIPAA confidentiality issues. And someone's COVID-19 status is under the medical information protected by HIPAA. So I did a lot of walking to relay information today.
The Aix weather app forecast a little precipitation through about 2 pm; we didn't get that. It only looked like it might rain in the morning; the rest of the day was sunny.

The Kīlauea lava lake looks a little smaller than it has been.
There were 61 new cases of COVID-19 reported today, bringing the total known cases up to 30,287. There were no new deaths reported so the death toll remains at 467; currently 1327 cases are considered active. The 7-day new case average for O'ahu is 57 with a 2.1% positivity rate.
