Oh, Oh ...

On the news tonight they described the LCC POD as a brand new POD just opening to provide vaccinations to anyone 18 or older. That's not true; we are a closed POD that has been around since late January providing 2nd shots, then later branching out to also do more 1st shots. Hopefully, people will be sorted out when they go online and try to register. Fortunately, we are an appointment-only clinic and do not take walk-ins.

This clearly says the POD is closed.
This one is less clear.

Every Monday morning we start with a virtual meeting with the VAMS contractor; they try to anser any questions we have with how VAMS is working. Or not working.

Then a couple hours later we have an internal meeting on the LCC POD. A lot of the discussion today was about how the POD will operate over the next few days. No one knows how many people will be coming in for the 1st appointments that have just opened up; we can only make our best guess on what the next day will be like based on how many they have the morning before. Which makes it difficult to figure out exactly how many people are needed to give shots & do data entry. We'll be OK in data entry, if we match the same number of vaccinators we'll have more than enough time to keep up with them.

For lunch today I made a quick trip home; I forgot to put the folders with the information about the start & end times for the data entry center and the number of staff each day of the POD. I needed it to start recreating the ICS 214's; I wanted to start them with less interruptions than there will be at the POD. I was able to finish 10 of the 25 or so that I need to write.

When I got home The Potential Most Favorite Roommate's car was home; he called in sick today. Yesterday he got his 2nd COVID-19 vaccination and was feeling achy all over and very fatigued. He was feeling better in the evening.

I was awakened early this morning by a heavy rain. The Aix weather app did not forecast a rain at that time, or any time during the day. Other than the rain before sunrise, there was no other rain during the day or evening.

Rain at 4:43 am.
Clouds over Nā Koolau at 7:20 am.
The same view at 1:06 pm.

Another blossom on the orchid plant that The Roommates gave me when I completed the contact tracing class opened today; there are 3 of them now. There are 3 more buds on the plant.

Kīlauea is still erupting.

There were 65 new cases of COVID-19 reported today bringing the total known cases up to 31,446. There were no new deaths reported so the death toll remains at 474; currently 1180 cases are considered active. The 7-day new case average for Oʻahu is 56 with a positivity rate of 2.0%.
