The expected number of vaccinations today was 1132; we ended up with 1081. So there was a little more activity entering forms than yesterday. But there was a lot more other activity today. At one point we logged out of 4 of the laptops & switched to the desktops; Ops needed to move those laptops to Check-In since they are faster than what Check-In was using. And we couldn't refuse since the laptops really belong to HFD and not DOH; now we are using 6 laptops and 12 desktops. Which is OK, except if the power goes off again we'll only have 6 usable computers; the desktops can't connect to the wi-fi when they are on the generator. (I think it's because the wi-fi base & routers are in another room we can't access or provide power to with another generator.)
Another activity going on today was figuring out what we will need in order to move to doing 2000 forms per day. For whatever reason, Ops thinks we can't handle a lot of forms; Alicia has been telling them we can & I have been reiterating it with numbers. This is one of the reasons why Koa is working on moving information from the online registration form to the VAMS database; specifically it would be the demographic information. When we only need to add the vaccine information we can reduce the data entry time to 3&1/2 minutes per form. But we need to make sure the data migration works properly; for other records that we know someone else has entered we have not been able to enter any vaccine data or do any other editing to the data that was already entered. I said I would like to start with the 18 we have as it ramps up and see how we do with getting up to 2000 forms; we can have up to 24 people in the room & maintain the required physical distancing. But we do need laptops in order to make sure we can enter the forms even if the power goes out.
The other thing we had to deal with today was people coming to the Data Entry Center to get a replacement vaccine card; there were 4 of them in a 4 hour period, we had no one asking prior to today. I think perhaps they are thinking they need the card for the proposed "Vaccine Passport" program that is being developed by the State. And they have lost their cards so they are coming back to the POD to get another card. But right now there is no process, so they are getting sent to us because we are the only ones who can access the information for both shots. Ops will be developing a process, hopefully it will include not allowing the people wanting a new card to be wandering around the POD & coming to the Data Entry Center & interrupting our work; hopefully they will be restricted to waiting at the Check-In area. In all I did 2.56 miles of walking today; so not as much as doing the runner position all day but much more than just doing data entry.
I'm tracking from when I leave the car to when I return. |
It drizzled as I was getting ready for work. But by the time I got in to the car it had stopped. There was no precipitation for the remainder of the day.

Lunch today was from Bamboo Catering; I chose the regular meal. I tried the vegetarian the last time and there was too much carbs and not enough protein. This time it was heavy on the protein and no veggies.
There was an updated Kīlauea video by the USGS this evening.
There were 114 new cases of COVID-19 reported today, bringing the total known cases up to 29,794. There were no new deaths reported so the death toll remains at 463; currently 1223 cases are considered to be active. The 7-day average of new cases on Oʻahu is 56 with a 2.1% positivity rate.
