Vanco Drip

Dad is now on vancomycin, it is administered intravenously every 12 hours. There is an IV stand with a pump now located in his room. This morning it looked like the redness  on his lower leg had spread a little farther. The outside of his upper leg looked less red but the inside looked redder. Dad still says it is not sore. Tomorrow they do a blood draw to get some information about what's happening.

My morning walk was pleasant; it was not muggy and there was a light breeze. While I was walking I saw Calvin the Recycler below the park. During my cool down stretches I saw Ken with the early-rising dogs, Lorraine, Lori from the dog pack, and Caroline & Olive go by.
Twenty minutes before sunrise on Waiʻalae.
Nine minutes before sunrise on Maunalani.
Eight minutes past sunrise on Sierra.
Surf's up!

Dad had breakfast in bed; he ate all of his fried egg sandwich and papaya. He drank only 120 ml of apple juice but no water.

During my mid-morning walk I saw LaVie & Kila. They were just starting up on Maunalani Circle, so I walked with them up to the driveway. In order to give Kila more exercise, LaVie walked down to the entry door with me. We talked about how good a therapy dog Kila would be because she is so mellow.

Young mushroom looks like Chlorophytum most likely molybdites.

Lunch today was Pork tofu, Steamed rice, Stir fry vegetable blend, Tossed salad, Caramel cheesecake, and Garden vegetable soup. There were no stir fry vegetables on my plate and there were a whole lot of mushrooms in the vegetable soup. Dad ate all of his 1/2 peanut butter & banana sandwich and 2 desserts but he drank hardly any apple juice or water.

I skipped the afternoon walk, I wanted to be there when Curtis arrived so I could fill him in on everything going on with Dad. Plus I wanted to let him know about Mr. Pires and Mr. Yamada's service & interment.

I saw Sleepy Cat and Shy Cat in front of Mikeʻs house during my morning walk. After I took their photo I realized that Sleepy Cat had been eating a bird for breakfast! Later, during my mid-morning walk, I got a closer look at the bird; it was an ʻEhakō (Spotted Dove). The question is, was the ʻEhakō hit by a car, then Sleepy Cat came in for the free food? Or did Sleepy Cat actually hunt & catch the ʻEhakō?

Calvin helped me pick papayas this afternoon. When people help me I have them stand below as I toss papayas to them. That way I donʻt have to haul a full bag of papayas down in one hand while hanging on to the ladder with the other hand. There were 13 of them; several were ripe, I should have picked them last Friday. I gave a couple to Calvin along with a couple of mangoes.

We took Calvin out for dinner tonight since this was his last night with us. He moves to the U. S. Fish & Wildlife Service bunkhouse later tonight. We went to Kim Chee II.

After dinner we went to Pipeline Bakery & Creamery. We had a bunch of different things including a Malamode and an M&M Cookie.
