PGBWS

I had breakfast this morning with Cathy at The Sisters Restaurant. She had the Bay Shrimp Omelette and I had the Montana Omelette. Later Gene dropped by and had coffee with us. They are 2 of my friends from the Port Gardner Bay Watercolor Society. Cathy is also a birder, photographer, and volunteer with The Wildlife Society. Gene inspires me by doing at least one painting a day. Like birding every day, it helps sharpen your skills.

It was cold again this morning when Louie and I went for a walk. So once again, I cut the walk short.

At midday I met Janice at her place in Seattle. We started by doing omiyage shopping for me at Trader Joe's for things for The Roommates. We also went to Bartells; I always get smoked salmon there, it is the best price!
It's been this price for at least 20 years!

For lunch we went to the Marination Station which was across the parking lot from Bartells; we were originally going to OOink but they are closed on Mondays. One of the c-owners of Marination Station is from Hawai'i hence the Hawaiian quilt design graphics and references to "Aloha". Janice had Sexy Tofu tacos, I had a Kalbi Beef taco and a Miso Ginger Chicken taco.
They are closed on Mondays.
Fortunately, they are not.

I dropped Janice off at her anti-racism training at the Tukwila Community Center; she had asked me if I knew the trainer, Bernardo Ruiz. I sort of had; he was scheduled to be one of our speakers at the North Puget Sound Conference on Race but had to cancel at the last minute due to an accident so I only emailed with him but never met him. I got to meet him today! While there I also saw Tami & Eleta, surprising both of them that I was there!
American Crow.

I spent the afternoon with Aunty Florence; there was still a lot of snow around the condos. I helped her load a program for identification of Washington birds on to her laptop. She had also baked some cookies.

Not sure how long it will work; I couldn't get the registration to work.

On the way to dinner I had the opportunity to use the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Tunnel. Construction had started in 2013 when I still lived here. It was opened for use about a month ago. It has some interesting graphics inside the tunnel of fleeing people.
Entering the northbound tunnel.
Apparently there are escape points every 1000 feet or so that you are supposed to run to in case of Hollywood catastrophe.

I had dinner with Irene & Gary & Miles. They had picked up some wild boar ravioli at the farmers market yesterday. We also spent time catching up with what was going in life.
It was so good I almost forgot to take a photo before I finished it!
L to R: Gary, Miles, & Irene.

When I left Irene & Gary's house it was 38 degrees F; when I got back to Mary Ellen & Michel's it was a lot colder! It's going to be another cold sunrise birding walk tomorrow!

A hot cup of tea and a keto brownie helped warm me up after I unloaded the car; Michael made them today. He used almond flour and coconut flour in place of wheat flour and stevia in place of sugar. They were pretty good. But I liked his chocolate bar better.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau to Dr. Mimms, Marilyn, & John!
