Casino Day

The special event today was Casino Day! I skipped my mid-morning walk to take Dad to Casino Day. We got there about half an hour after it started but were still able to find a place at the blackjack table; I think that was a good choice. As far as card games go, there are less cards involved and less combinations you need to remember to determine if you are a winner. And the dealers (Richard & Stan from the Koko Head Lions Club) were great!

Dad wins even more!
Dad traded in his chips for a new blanket.

There was a little bit more of a breeze this morning. I saw Melissa with Karpo & Lily and Calvin the Recycler during my walk. During my cool down stretches I saw Lorraine (it's Sunday!) and Ken with Toto & Chico.
Twenty-six minutes before sunrise on Waiʻalae.
Fourteen minutes before sunrise on Maunalani.
Three minutes after sunrise on Sierra.

Dad was in the Orchid Dining Room having breakfast with Mr. & Mrs. Omiya and Mrs. Keliikipi. Yesterday I had asked CNA Charmaine to try to get him out of bed for breakfast because in the morning it is easier to get him to activities if he is already in the chair. Dad ate all his fried egg sandwich, papaya, and  banana. He drank 120 ml cranberry juice but no water.

After breakfast I took Dad first to see Popokilani, we couldn't find her but Immanuel was leading an exercise class in the shade out in the courtyard. Popokilani showed up later and delighted everyone there. But Dad's okole got too sore so we went back to his room. About 30 minutes later Dad needed to leave his bed because they had to fix some tiles in his floor; it was good timing to go to the Casino Day event!

Lunch today was Chicken afritada, Steamed rice, Tossed salad, Cherry pie, and Thai chicken curry & rice soup. Dad ate all of his 1/2 peanut butter & banana sandwich but only 1 piece of pie. He drank 120 ml cranberry juice and 60 ml water.

I skipped my afternoon walk, gambling is hard work and really tired me out! Actually, it was really hot, the news said 88 degrees F. Then along with the high dewpoint it felt like 96! One of my e-mails from West Marine noted there was a clearance sale of some clothing. I checked it out and found a shirt that not only is UPF 50, it also has built-in cooling technology. I ordered one; I hope it works!
