Women of Resilience

Yesterday was another full day, though it didn't seem like that when it started. All we had was breakfast and a car show; then I dropped Kai off and headed south to pick up Janice and go to the Women of Resilience Speaker Series talk for August. Janice organized the series which featured June BlueSpruce this month; she spoke on The Healing Power of Nature. It was a small but enjoyable group of women.
Some books recommended by June.
We spent about 15 minutes outdoors as part of the session.

First thing this morning we were supposed to meet Paul at the Totem Family Restaurant for breakfast; but he stayed out too late last night at a concert where he scored some free tickets, so he cancelled. Since there was a long wait list for Totem, we headed to Kate's Greek & American Deli; we got the last open table. Kai had the Chorizo Omelette with rye toast and I had the All of the Above Omelette with wheat toast. Kate's is one of our favorite breakfast venues.

We headed tot he Hot Wheels Car Show after breakfast. My friend Sheryl's husband Randy had a 1960's era Corvette in the show. It is a color called black cherry; from a distance or in less than optimal light it looks black; but when the sun is shining on it you can see the dark red color sparkling.

When you look at it closer the dark red becomes more apparent.

After the Women of Resilience talk, Janice and I stopped at Bananas Grill to pick up some dinner. We took it back to her apartment so that she could blend her meal to make it easier to eat. Janice had the Falafel Wrap and I had the Bananas Combination Plate. Another place I will have to return to for more!

Janice gave me some of the chocolate she had bought at Theo Chocolates during their sale. It was broken bars that can be purchased for $1 a pound during their semi-annual store sale.

I checked and David was home! I dropped in on him on my way back to Mary Ellen's. Sarah was there with her French bulldog rescue, Lyra. Things are going well for them; they are contemplating buying a small RV & doing some road trips.
