Pre-GAR Preparations

We went to pick up our race packets for the Great Aloha Run this afternoon. They distribute the packets on the 2 days before the run during a health expo.

On our way to pick up our packets we were delayed by a bunch of emergency vehicles; there were at least 4 police cars and 2 fire engines that passed us and turned down Beretania. When we crossed Beretania, Brent saw them less than a block down the road; it appeared there was a fire that just started. About an hour later on the news they said there was a fire. That's it, a fire. It was only about an hour after the fire started so they didn't know much.

I skipped all the walks today; saving my energy for tomorrow. I also slept in an extra hour, getting up at sunrise instead of an hour before sunrise. Which essentially put me in Dad's room at about the same time as if I had done my sunrise walk! For breakfast today he ate half of his fried egg sandwich and all of his papaya & banana. He drank 240 ml cranberry juice and 120 ml water.

Later in the morning a good luck dragon came by for the Chinese New Year celebration. Dad gave the lion a lucky money packet.

Lunch today was Roast beef, Mashed potatoes, Seasoned green beans, Tossed salad, Blonde brownie, and Potato chowder. Dad ate all his 1/2 peanut butter & banana sandwich and 2 pieces of blonde brownie. He drank 240 ml cranberry juice and 120 ml water.

I saw an ad on TV about Mililani Restaurant!

As I write this it is drizzling outside. The forecast for tomorrow is that it will be about 70 degrees F at the start of the race and overcast with a slight chance of precipitation. Overall the weather looks favorable for the run; unlike the Holiday Hustle in December that was canceled due to the weather.
