Last Vanco Tx

This morning Dad had his last vancomycin treatment. Yay! No more skipping my mid-morning walk to sit around to stop him from dislodging the needle during his treatment. Apparently the vancomycin causes a little discomfort at the insertion site as it is being administered.

For lunch today I went to Curtis & Lori's house; they had Aunty Judy, Aunty Florence, and Tomiko over for lunch rather than doing another big dinner so soon after the 4th of July dinner. The main part of lunch was Korean take-out so we had spicy pork, barbecue chicken, meat jun, and mandoo, along with the usual Korean pickled side dishes. The aunties brought a variety of Napples from Napoleon's Bakery and I brought 4 Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bars from Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery.

As we were wrapping up lunch, Shawn dropped by with some fancy cupcakes from Sugarlina, the store his friend works at.
Three strawberry and one chocolate.
Clockwise from top left: Ube, Vanilla, S'mores, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, & Guava.

Towards the end of lunch I got a call from LPN Chivas, Dr. Greis extended the vancomycin treatment for one more day. Although Dad's leg looked a lot better, a lot less red, he wanted to treat Dad for one more day to reduce the amount of redness even more.

My morning walk seemed a little less muggy than it has been though there was still very little breeze. I saw Calvin the Recycler; a short while later Kelly drove by. During my cool down stretches Ona jogged by and Ken walked by with the early-rising dogs. I did not see the White Cockatoo this morning.
Twelve minutes before sunrise.
Six minutes after sunrise on Sierra.
LWMs; little white mushrooms in a parking strip.

Dad was eating breakfast in bed when I arrived. He ate half of his fried egg sandwich and all of his papaya, but saved his apple banana for later. He drank 120 ml apple juice but no water; his blood pressure was a little low since he has not been drinking much water.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau to Vonita!
