Hua Hin Thai, Not!

We went to Hua Hin Thai to meet Clarissa & Monica for lunch today; it looked kinda dark. Another guy in the parking lot got out, went to the door & found it locked. We texted Clarissa & Monica and suggested going to Janbo Cafe which was right across the street. Kai had one of their Banh Mis and I had the Kung Pao Chicken without rice. We had a great time catching up on whatʻs been going on in our lives.

Monica was able to help us possibly find a new home for the old Subaru; it has a couple more months of life left. We are looking for a home where someone really needs a running car to help them over a rough spot. Then when it finally gives up or they no longer need it, the old Subaru can be retired. Monica was able to help us with that; a young woman from her church is in that situation. We met with Brooke briefly and will be talking with her more on Friday.

We met Bo & Barbara at Curries Restaurant for dinner; as we were driving in to town it was slushing. That's what we call it when it is rain mixed with snow. As we got there it started to hail! But it didn't last very long. Later a Winter Storm Watch was issued by FEMA from now through the next 3 days. It warns of possible heavy snows with accumulations of 12 to 24 inches, some of it in the foothills. It is currently predicting the possibility from early Friday morning to late Friday night but since it is saying it will be in one of the areas where I am planning on being on Sunday, I will be listening to see whether the warning is extended further in to the week.

For dinner we ordered Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma, Malai Kofta, and Veg Masala. We also had Garlic Naan and Vegetable Pakoras. For dessert we followed our server's recommendation and had Peshawari, with Kheer and Gulab Jamun. Everything was excellent as usual! We spent a lot of time talking; in fact we were there over 3 hours!

One of the neat things about the room I am staying in is that Ian has installed outlets that have USB ports in them! I will have to look for these on the Big Island and have Chris install at least one in each room. But first I will have to figure out where the best location would be for that type of outlet.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau to Pam! This is also the 4th anniversary of my last paid working day! The "job" I moved to after my paid employment is one of the more difficult but very rewarding jobs I have ever had.
