Snow!

As we drove in to town to take the Outback to Z Sport I noticed snow on cars! There was also snow on the ground in Everett; there had been none in Marysville.

Four minutes past sunrise in Marysville; not a hint of snow.
Just rain, no snow!

We dropped off the Outback first thing this morning to get it weatherized. They also changed the oil and replaced the windshield wipers. Now its ready to get me around in the upcoming wintery weather. Chuck suggested listing the Loyale on Craigslist; he said because it runs and the body is in good condition we should be able to find someone wanting to buy it. He suggested $1000 as a good starting price.
For Craigslist post.

After we dropped off the Outback, we went to The Sisters Restaurant for breakfast and to meet up with George. Kai had the Chorizo Quiche with a latte and I had the Greek Omelet with tea. George arrived around 10; his group of friends, Richard, Sharon, & Toy, arrived a short while later. They meet at Sisters every Friday around 10 am. They were an interesting and fun group to meet.

We all left around the same time, when the 90 minute parking for most of us was about to expire. Sharon lives in the condominium next door so she did not have to worry about parking! We also had to leave to get Kai to his appointment.

After his appointment we went to Bargain CDs, Records, and Tapes; Kai wanted to look for Die Hard and other iconic pop culture movies to further my Pop /culture education. He found Die Hard; he talked to his roommates and we have now scheduled next Tuesday evening as a pizza & movie night for the household! We'll pick up a chicken Tikka pizza and a Hawaiian pizza from A Pizza House.

Finally found it! Let the Die Hard Christmas begin!

Since the Outback would not be ready until about 2 pm, we went to Cafe Makario to kill some time; Kai had a Dutch Tiramisu and I had  a non-dairy London Fog made coconut milk. The coconut milk one tasted much better than the almond milk London Fog.

While there we struck up a conversation with another customer who came in around the same time; we hit it off really well with Steve. It turns out his grandparents had emigrated fro Spain to Hawai'i to work in the sugar cane fields! Later they moved to the West Coast, where his father was born. But he had lived in Hawai'i himself and worked as a beach boy in Waikiki; he knew a lot of the early surfers like Eddie & Clyde Aikau! Small world! We'll be meeting up with Steve again next week.

After 3 moves, we have been unable to find the title for the Loyale; so we went to the licensing department to get an Affidavit of Lost Title. Later we went up to visit friends in Environmental Service. I got to see Doug, Misty, Julie, Mary, Crilly, Steve, and Deb. On the way out I spotted one of the environmental review signs from the Index-Galena proje3ct; someone had used it for target practice.
This is what they do sometimes.

After we picked up the Outback we returned to Kai's place for dinner before I headed out again to the Pilchuck Audubon Society meeting tonight. PAS President Cindy was speaking on the Puget Sound Bird Observatory's Regional Wetland Secretive Bird Survey.

About 4 pm FEMA issued a Special Weather Statement; apparently a cold front from the Fraser River Valley is on its way. This means precipitation will change from rain to snow due to the "modified arctic front." It is expected to arrive in the state on Sunday morning and continue down the I-5 corridor through Monday.

Hauʻoli lā Hānau to Bruce, Wayne, Maria, & Jacque!
